We arrived in San Antonio, and found the venue for Lederhosen Lucil's first show around 6am. After looking around a bit, we decided the best place to sleep would be the residential area a block away. No more than 2 hours after we tried to get to sleep, two squad cars rolled up on us. The neigbors were worried that we were gang members because I was using a red bandana as a sleep mask. I was told "the blue guys" would fill me full of holes if they came by. Awsome. So the cops directed us to Roosevelt park, a couple blocks away so we could sleep without scaring the neigborhood. We got up, went to Wal-Mart for supplies, including a non-gang affiliated sleep mask, and drove around seeing the sights until the first show of the day started at the Blue Star Arts Complex: Flight gallery (the silos pictured below). Hyperbubble opened the show, and were awsome, then Lucil went on. After the show, Nick's entry to the coloring contest won us dinner with Lucil (Krista) and DJ Jester (Mikey). I think we were eating Korean BBQ, and it was delicious, but we were eating in an eastern European restauant...I dunno, it was confusing. Fun stuff though. After dinner, we followed Mikey and Krista to TacoLand for show # 2. The only picture from TacoLand is the cardboard beer girl. Jester, and Lucil put their tables, and keyboard in front of her, and rocked out. |
