04/20/09: i'm an uncle now. presenting Oden Godzilla Annabi:

04/01/09: ok, so i've been watching a ton of agricultural documentaries recently. A company called Monsanto keeps coming up. They're like the Skeletor of agriculture. Unfortunately, there's no He-Man.

I just found a movie that comprehensively focuses on Monsanto. I know I've been urging readers of my website (all 3 of you) to watch some of these movies (the Future of Food, the Corporation, Flow), but really, i've gone so far as to find this one on both YouTube & Google video where you can even download the file. Or you can rent / buy it on dvd. The World According to Monsanto. You deserve to know what you're putting into your bodies, and who exactly is responsible for it. Hell, i'll even embed the thing if you feel like watching it on my website.

On a related note, Obama is a complete tool. I don't know that we can as a society undig ourselves from our current position. I've come to realize how powerless we the proletariat are in the face of global capitalism.

No amount of public outcry will change the flow of global economics. the world faces many intensely troubling problems as a result of the strangle hold capitalism (aka greed) has on our leaders. It is impossible for industry to have continuous growth, and to pursue such a thing can only come at the expense of the people, and the planet. Complete economic collapse seems like our best chance at a new beginning...if only we get so lucky.

In the meantime, spend your money more intelligently, huh?

Fuck Wal-Mart!

Fuck genetically modified foods!

Fuck bottled water! (it's no cleaner than tap water, and less regulated. meanwhile you're directly supporting the privatization of water.)

this is it. this is all i can do to help. i hope some of you are listening.

03/19/09: I just won a contest held by Scott Pilgrim author Bryan Lee O'Malley with this photo:

boo yah.

Also, I recently painted this for my unborn nephew Oden Godzilla Annabi:

my kitty is a cutie pie.

Podcast still under construction.

03/04/09: Shows coming up next week. I'm running one, and playing in the other.

Also, check out this music video by Rainbow Arabia. Another of their songs will be on the next podcast...which is coming sooner than later.

02/17/09: Oh hey, looky here:

soon to be available for purchase.

02/3/09: if, like me, you don't watch the super bowl, then you probably missed this exciting exciting trailer. can not wait.

01/30/09: as a concerned global citizen, over the last few months i've been trying to inform myself on a myriad of pressing issues that humanity faces. i've been watching some really great documentaries that i recommend, such as The Future of Food, and The Corporation. i just finished another called Flow.

While all of these films are related to similar issues of globalization, unsafe agricultural practices, and the exploitation of lower classes, Flow specifically focuses on the privatization, and pollution of shrinking global water supplies.

I highly recommend you educate yourself on these issues, and all of the films I mentioned should be at the top of your netflix queue. I realize that it's hard to deal with problems so much bigger than us as individuals, but the first step to changing these problems is education.

at the very least I think we can all agree that everyone on the planet has a right to clean water, right? please sign this petition to the UN, which urges them to add an article to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, establishing access to clean and potable water as a fundamental human right.

01/27/09: holy crap i love the new animal collective album.

check out their new video. totally rad.

they'll be touring through albuquerque on june 1st. tickets on sale now. yay.

01/22/09: happy birthday to me. old ballz.

my plans fell through, so here's a birthday present for the two of you who still check up on me. it's a new music video from Fever Ray, a side project from one half of the Knife. the video lacks a point as far as i'm concerned, but the song is beautiful, and so is the cinematography.

fyi, Yoda's House is on hiatus. We'll return to live performance in a couple of months. In the mean time I'll be working on getting some recordings polished for future album releases, and doing some physical art. I'm excited to be switching gears. It's been too long (approx. 18 months) of non stop performances, each set starting from the ground up with new material and shifting membership.

look for a new podcast in february, and i'll try to share some of the new art as i produce it.

01/04/09: so, sorry about my absence. my computer had a meltdown right before tour, and then i was on tour, and then the holidaze continued to distract in the best possible ways.

am back. just got this ish running again. resuming regular irregularity forthwith.

the Halloween show was pretty rad. we debuted Skeletronica, the stop motion film that nick, james and I have been working on for the last few weeks, and our set was really solid. Smashan did a wonderful set before us, and Jenny did some really great physical work. Q Staff are amazing to work with, and their space is wonderful.

So, Bryce and I leave for our tour of middle america in less than three weeks. I'll try to update once more before we leave. Check out the Yoda's House myspace for tour dates and cities.
